Gem Glyph is the writing of the Gems. Each glyph has a meaning, and only a few meanings are known from the show and its crew. This section covers what is known, what conscryption-kit can write, and the news of the show and its creators.

Scripts that the kit writes

Each image is the phrase EVERY SCRIPT HAS A STORY, written by conscryption-kit.

What is known

Gem Glyph (Steven Universe)

  • Diamond glyph: a diamond shape with one bar. The position of the bar names the Diamond. Before the movie: White top, Yellow left, Blue right, Pink bottom. From the movie on (Era 3): Pink top, Blue left, Yellow right, White bottom. Source: Rebecca Sugar, Reddit AMA comment eemy33v, 2019-01-21.
  • Planet glyph: a square planet glyph with a Diamond bar has the meaning "[Diamond]'s planet". A numeral after it gives the order ("Her 5th planet"). Source: Steven Universe: End of an Era, page 217.
  • Diamond-rule glyph: the glyph of the 4 Diamonds has the meaning "under Diamond rule". Source: End of an Era, page 217.
  • Pearl disk: the text on the disk of a Pearl names the court of the Pearl. Source: End of an Era, page 217.
  • Numerals 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 8 (status: 5 is canon, End of an Era page 217. The others come from signs in the game Unleash the Light and a statement of a game developer that the Steven Universe Wiki reports. The SU wiki reads "=" as 8; the r/stevenuniverse wiki reads it as 2). Example: 1 is one square dot at the top. 2 is a column of 2 square dots. 4 is a short vertical bar. 5 has the shape of a capital gamma. 8 is 2 horizontal bars.
  • Example from End of an Era, page 217: The Reef = "White's planet" + "Her 5th planet" + "Under Diamond rule".
  • Fan inference, not canon (same syntax): Earth = "Pink Diamond's planet" + numeral 1, without the Diamond-rule glyph.

What the kit does not encode

  • Gem Glyph (Steven Universe): family logographic-partial: key not complete. Some glyphs are decoded from the notes of Steven Sugar (Steven Universe: End of an Era, page 217) and from the words of Rebecca Sugar.
